THE COLE HARD TRUTH
Launching "Ever Stronger"
After 24 years in coaching, 18 as a collegiate head strength coach, I have launched my twofold "Ever Stronger!" consulting - personal workout programs, and clinics for school S&C programs. MORE
A football high: out-physical the opponent
Our six-man team, in its first two games, brought back memories of dominating wins over big powers in college football by demonstrating how an off-season strength and conditioning program pays off. Never mind it wasn't Nebraska or Texas; satisfaction still runs high over a job well done Feb-to-Aug leading to success in the fall. HERE'S HOW

May 21 Family drive 2,600 miles
May 21, 2008
Not your typical vacation, but the Cole family had fun. Glad to be back with you after two weeks on the road, where we stopped to visit with friends and relatives, attended a high school graduation (read about that elsewhere on the home page), attended several graduation parties, helped host my in-lawsí 50th wedding anniversary, attended a cousin's track meet, and even got in some business along the way.
Stacey and some family members also attended a couple's renewal of wedding vows on their 30-year anniversary, and then a violin recital. Every stop, every activity was great fun because we did it together, and we shared in events with lots and lots of friends.
Having grown up in farm families that didn't take real vacations, Stacey and I aren't given to yearly big trips to Disney World or Hawaii, or Caribbean cruises, and the like. But this pilgrimage up north to revisit our roots in Kansas and Nebraska was enjoyable, if not exotic.
It's funny how we hit the point where we say we'll never drive a load of kids that far again, but weíre always ready to do it again a year or so later. We have been blessed with so many dear friends from all the places we've lived over the years, and we love to catch up with them on trips like this.
Weíre back home for baseball games, Christian Youth In Action training, home-schooling, and all of our other activities that are part of having a big family. Most people have just begun planning their summer vacations, while ours is over already, unless the feeling to hit the road strikes again.
Ready or not, just hours, it seemed like, after we stepped foot in the house, the phone rang and another business opportunity came up. That turned me right back out the door, to Houston, on a plane, to Kansas, and back out for another 2-3 jam-packed days.
That oneís over now, too, and we, like you, have settled in for an enjoyable Memorial Day break from the hustle-bustle of travel.
